Sinopsis

La película muestra a franz Liszt (Daltrey), gran compositor y virtuoso pianista, como si fuera la primera estrella de rock (tiene fanáticos, escándalos y groupies). Cuando, tras un recital de piano, recibe una invitación de la princesa Caroline de San Petersburgo (Kestelman), abandona a su amante Marie d'Agout y a sus hijos e inicia una relación amorosa con la aristócrata rusa. Después de que el el Papa (Starr) desautorice su nuevo matrimonio, Liszt se convierte en Abad, y recibe una misión: exorcizar a Richard Wagner, amigo suyo y marido de su hija Cosima.
